Isn't a motion for acquittal SOP?
Hell, even if I were the judge, and thought that "Zippy" was as pure as the driven snow, I wouldn't have issued an acquittal in a politically charged case such as this. Fair or not, the train's gonna have to haul this pissin' contest all the way to the end of the line.
And that's pretty much word for word as to how I would have explained my decision.
