If programs such as Sesame Street are such a big help in teaching our children, why has the graduation rate never again reached the peak it hit in 1970?

Sesame Street debuted in Nov. 1969.

I remember the teacher wheeling in the television once a week when I was in middle school, for "The Electric Company", a show targeted at a slightly older group than Sesame Street. It was lame and always seemed to me like it was meant for the kids in special ed. The teacher would go sit in the back of the classroom and sleep.
