Getting Rid of Holder
Obama must be in deep with this Fast & Furious scandal because he would otherwise have already cut Holder loose to take whatever political gain he could from doing so before the whole scandal brings down his campaign.
Despite Obama's arrogance and general detachment from reality (in terms of recognizing his own growing unpopularity) his reasons for keeping Holder around right now cannot be simply that he thinks he's safe from this and wants Holder to carry on his work while believing that the upside of getting rid of him isn't worth the upside of keeping him around. No Obama and his people are well aware of the mess Holder has gotten himself into and of the risk of that causing some serious trouble for his re-election bid. So why keep him around... because knowledge about F&F goes all the way to the top. Obama figured he could blow this off like everything else and that Holder would be able to squeak by like he seems to have thus far in spite of his increasingly outragious behaviour on the part of an attorney general. No, Obama's deep in it this time and the admin knows they're in trouble. Their current strategy of stonewalling (through Holder) until the election is over isn't going to work. Obama has already invoked Executive Priviledge to keep Kevin ' O'Rielly from testifying because of course he can tie the president directly to F&F.
His hand may be forced soon. I'm sure he was hoping he could keep the lid on this thing until right before the election and then feigning shock and outrage, cut Holder loose with just enough time to get through the election without an F&F meltdown... but the returns on that gamble are diminshing quickly.
We'll see what type of squirming they do in the coming weeks... in the meantime even the liberal news media cannot ignore the downfall of the AG and people are going to start tuning in to a scandal and coverup which is ineed big enough to bring down a president.
