Pretty much blows up your little conspiracy theory, eh, Bucko? You must feel like a right fool about now...
I respectfully disagree with Fauci. The states know what they can and cannot handle. If they feel like it's getting uncomfortable, they'll act to slow it down. What's happening now is what should have happened from the beginning: let the states figure this out as the situation requires it.

Every state needs their New York moment. They learn from it and do better in the future.

Here's the thing you somehow NEVER seem to understand. Fauci is a world-class expert on this stuff. You are simply a stuffed shirt. Your OPINION simply doesn't count compared to Fauci's. Capisce?

Pretty sure I said before that Fauci's job doesn't include economic and social impact. That's above his pay grade. Whose job is it to balance everything? Governors, and to some extent, president. Fauci is a government employee (not even Senate confirmed). He is not accountable to the public like governors/president. He is the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases and he has held that position since 1984. He is an advisor to his superiors (Francis Collins of National Institute of Health and Alex Azar of Deartment of Health and Human Services).

These are the facts.

Jim Jordan asked Fauci a policy question and Fauci refused to go there:

“Should we limit the protesting?” Jordan asked. When Fauci said he was not in a position to make such a recommendation, the lawmaker retorted: “You make all kinds of recommendations. You make comments on dating, on baseball and everything you could imagine.”

“I’m not favoring anybody over anybody,” Fauci replied. “I’m not going to opine on limiting anything ... I’m telling you what is the danger, and you can make your own conclusion about that. You should stay away from crowds, no matter where the crowds are.”
...as I said: above his pay grade.

You're right, Fauci's job doesn't include economic and social impact. He is right on about how to minimise the impact of this pandemic which would have vastly minimised the negative impact on economic and social issues. But nooo, Fat Bastard was more concerned with his reelection.

As for Fauci's not endorsing Jordan's propaganda about protests causing a spike in Covid numbers nobody including Jordan "the enabler" has those figures either. It just shows that Fauci's smarter than both you and Jordan.

It utterly amazes me how you people will go to any lengths to excuse tRump's bungling response to the outbreak.

You dumbass. This was very much being planned at the federal level by The Boy Prince, until they figured Blue states would benefit more than Red. The federal response has been ENTIRELY POLITICAL from the get-go.

An Obama administration would have been ALL OVER the response, regardless of the Red/Blue divide, and it would be in our rear-view mirror by now. It's what the federal government is SUPPOSED to do.

The more you quarantine, the more social and economic is damaged. Society needs to find a happy balance and the forceful arm of the federal government won't get us there.

He said people should stay away from crowds. Protests are crowds. He didn't say whether or not an intervention policy should be created. Only that crowds are a problem.

Except it was the states that quarantined, one by one. Federal government can't force states to impose a quarantine, nor should they. The only statute that comes close is martial law and...no...there's no way that would end well. Martial law can work on a small scale (e.g. NYC), but it won't work for the whole country. Red states quarantined less, blue states more, because they must since the virus follows population densities.

The biggest federal response was the CARES Act, which didn't really pick favorites (first come first server), and FEMA, which focused on NYC where it was the worst.

That's great you think so highly of Obama but look around you: COVID-19 has humanity's number and the only hope of stopping it is through global vaccination.

“Many countries that believed they were past the worst are now grappling with new outbreaks. Some that were less affected in the earliest weeks are now seeing escalating numbers of cases and deaths.”
Unless Obama can magically pull 7 billion 100% effective vaccines out of his ass, we'd still be where we are today regardless of who controls the federal government.
