I don't understand Obama's apparent reluctance to use the 14th Amendment. I guess it would make him look (more) overbearing to some and he might prefer that the 'Baggers lose by the public turning on them.

I'm surprised that those Virginians didn't pull out a fencerail and some tar & feathers when he crashed 'Cootch' Cuccinelli's campaign rally. Gotta wonder if he has the sand to show up in Norfolk in a week or three when some of those 375,000 federal workers can't pay their mortgages. This is going to get fugly if Boner doesn't cave soon.

To Hell with section 4 of the 14th amendment, the way I see it, we could use section 3 to get rid of some of the House for insurrection and rebellion. Now if we could only come up with 2/3 of the House to make it happen. 2/3 of the Senate would be the easier portion.

Section 3. No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may, by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

I know I mentioned it before but it is almost as if Boehner thinks he is an equal to the President....he is not. I think this is some sort of trick to turn the Speakership into a sort of Prime Minister or Chancellor position.

The problem is under a real Parliamentarian system we could vote to rid of Boehner today.
In our system of course we cannot.

Is he trying to set up a counterweight Prime Minister or Chancellorship office without a check on that office? No I am not stoned.
