Senate Confirms Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court

Senate Confirms Ketanji Brown Jackson to Supreme Court

The 53-47 vote elevated the first Black woman to the pinnacle of the judicial branch. Three Republicans joined Democrats in supporting President Biden’s nominee.

Repubes made their role highly political. Sad!

WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report)—Minutes after Kentanji Brown Jackson was confirmed to the United States Supreme Court, Senator Ted Cruz warned that the confirmation of a qualified nominee set “a dangerous precedent.”

“Make no mistake, Judge Jackson has been confirmed for the flimsiest of reasons—that she is qualified,” Cruz said. “Now that one qualified nominee has been confirmed, we can expect more of the same.”

“Mark my words, Joe Biden and his cabal of Democratic cronies are ready to pack the Court with other qualified nominees,” he added. “The slippery slope started today.”

Recalling confirmation hearings of yesteryear, Cruz waxed nostalgic for an era “before the tyranny of the qualified seized control.”

“There was a time in America when a Supreme Court nominee could be confirmed because he liked beer and cried about calendars,” he said. “Those days, sadly, appear to be over.”

Christo-Nazi Cruz is angry because Biden said he would find a Black female Justice who is qualified for the job and he succeeded. Damn the nerve of that "racist Demoncrat".

Cloaking their objections because of her race with objections to her qualifications, but they couldn't. Time and time again the GOP shows they are at war with our republic. Why are Democrats, Independents and sane Republicans not acting on this I do not know.

You mean, people voted against someone who they disagreed with?

Don't the reasons why they disagreed matter?

It means these particular individuals would have voted against her had they known absolutely nothing about her beyond their belief that she is nothing more than a "token affirmative action case". And what would be behind THAT assumption?

This and other recent revelations show that the Republican party has filled up with Putin loving Fascist pigs and it's sad.

BTW, Pete.... Welcome back, Sweet Cheeks.
