Sorry if his own words demonstrate to anyone with even a hint of skepticism that your Trumpenfuhrer is an insecure, narcissistic, vain-glorious manchild. Amazingly, it doesn't demonstrate that to you.

There are the falsehoods. But I'm sure it makes you feel better to believe that tripe. Past presidents have made similar proclamations. Here's Obama's:

Here's an excerpt from Obama's:
We are in the midst of a season of trial. Our Nation is being tested, and our people know great uncertainty. Yet the story of America is one of renewal in the face of adversity, reconciliation in a time of discord, and we know that there is a purpose for everything under heaven.
On this Inauguration Day, we are reminded that we are heirs to over two centuries of American democracy, and that this legacy is not simply a birthright -- it is a glorious burden. Now it falls to us to come together as a people to carry it forward once more.
Here's an excerpt from Trump's:
Freedom is the birthright of all Americans, and to preserve that freedom we must maintain faith in our sacred values and heritage.
Our Constitution is written on parchment, but it lives in the hearts of the American people. There is no freedom where the people do not believe in it; no law where the people do not follow it; and no peace where the people do not pray for it.
There are no greater people than the American citizenry, and as long as we believe in ourselves, and our country, there is nothing we cannot accomplish.
I don't see anything necessarily sinister in either the words used by either President, or either President's release of a proclamation on their first day in office. But apparently you see something sinister in Trump's because....well....Trump did it. Horrors!
You flippin' tool.
