The biggest demonstrations are in the city of Dresden, which is the capital of the district Thühringen. In this district live less then 4000 Moslems (2%). On the other side, in Köln or Berlin we got a pretty high percentage of Moslems, but the Pegida demostrations are not succesful there.
There is a huge Anti-Pegida movement all over Germany and this is the real face of the tolerant German population. In the Internet 1000000 people signed an Anite-Pegida petition, so you see there is no future for this reactionary movement.

Yes, we have our own Bachmann here (Michele). Xenophobia is one of the arrows in her quiver too.
The PEGIDA seem to be part of, or influenced, by the broader far right German Identity Movement. These groups seem to be popping up all over Europe and even enjoying electoral success. We have our Tea Party, of course, but at least so far, they haven't exhibited the militancy of Jobbik in Hungary, the Romanian Noua Dreaptă or the Banderist Right Sector in Ukraine.
Weirdly, members of the "1%" biker gangs in Germany and other countries are taking direct action. There's a growing number who have traveled to Syria and the Kurdistan Region to take on Daesh directly.
