The Israeli military is present all over the country from the Lebanese border to the Golan Heights to southern Israel to the Gaza border. Much of the country south of Be'er Sheva, other than the city of Eilat and the village of Mitzpe Ramon, is military bases scattered throughout the Negev desert.

I realize that Israel is extremely militarized. My comment was a tongue in cheek.

Keep in mind that the aid to Israel is a continuation of the aid deal this country made with Israel and Egypt in the 1978 Camp David Peace Accords. The hugely prevailing attitude of Muslims in the ME is that they will never recognize Israel's right to exist.

Here's me and my wife on a cold, windy day on the Golan Heights doing our part to defend Israel. Afterwards, a beer was necessary at the Golan Brewhouse.

A lot of American Indian tribes feel the same way about the Federal government.

That's what happens when your land is stolen by usurpers using "God's chosen people" as their motto.
