According to the poll I mentioned above 70% of Republicans agree with his rhetoric on immigration. With numbers like that, it looks to me like he could very well end up being the nominee.

Maybe..... But by the time the primaries get here, he will have managed to insult and anger several more groups of people who won't want to vote for him.

Trump is just further evidence of the decline of the GOP as a force in the Presidential arena. The demographics have changed so that when a lunatic, with the help of Citizen's United, decides to run a bigoted campaign that is more damaging to his Party than the opposition, no one, not even the RNC Chairman (nothing to write home about to begin with) can or has the will to stop him.

I do not think we should be too happy.

People are just fed up with immigration, especially with the huge non white illegal immigrants.

They feel the government have lost control and both parties are insincere on the subject.

Sounds redundant.
If it's true a fool and his money are soon parted, Trump must really be loaded as it's taking quite a while to happen.

So, maybe instead of charging folks several thousands of dollars and a three year wait to be citizens we should just let them sign the book and come on in like many folks here ancestors did, right.....?

Because, as they say, "It takes one to know one."

Former Texas governor Rick Perry, himself a subject of recent attacks from Trump, said Trump was "unfit" to serve as president and should "immediately withdraw" from the race.
Maybe Perry's not so dumb after all. Of course, while this is true, it'll never happen because Trump is exactly the kind of hate-filled charlatan that the Republican base loves.
