I like it should it prove true and rates had to drop.

They can't have it both ways?????????????
They got rid of the single payee, they got rid of the public option. What makes you think they will not get ride of the pre existing condition inclusion clause as well?
They want it all. You know, the holy unbridled capitalism.
If this bill passes as currently is the celebration will be amongst the healthcare providers, not the reformers. In the mean time they want as much as they can get.

1000 pages of god-knows-what regulation is not unbridled capitalism and a large reason I suspect the bill is going down.
Why don't the principals get together, write something SIMPLE outlining their plan, and submit it directly to the people? Most folks know it can't keep going on this way, the cost is getting out of line.

Medicare already has these young people. They have been taxing my check since I was 15. As a matter of fact they there is a Medicare deduction from every check I ever get.

Jack,
Please do not take this as an insult, but are you kidding? You are essentially talking about a public option, that very well could become a single payer plan. That is unless I completely misunderstand what you are saying. If I don't misunderstand, we have found something that we could agree on whole-heartedly. I would be absolutely ecstatic to see that proposal implemented.
I can see how you as a small business owner would find this beneficial. I expect that you would like to see your employees have health insurance coverage, but as a small business owner myself, I see what a huge chunk of our income goes into paying insurance premiums.
Regards,
D-Ray

That was one of the best ideas to die in this whole mess. Extending Medicare to people at age 50 was a real win/win. But the Republicans and even some Democrats blocked it under pressure from the Insurance Companies.
Make no mistake, there are winners in this fiasco. Insurance Companies are feeling pretty good this morning, I'd wager.

Once again, how on earth did the GOP 'block' anything?

They created a solid, impenetrable block of forty votes that only had to attract one opportunistic, soul-less political hack (read Joe Lieberman) to prevent a vote on a health care bill. Little over a year ago, it seems, Lieberman was trying to extend the GOP regime in the White House, so it seems pointless to not include him as a brick in the stonewall.
