That would imply that the only reason for invoking executive privilege is to conceal executive malfeasance or criminal misconduct. For all its earlier failings, "Fast and Furious" is an ongoing operation with national security implications. As such, it's perfectly appropriate to invoke Executive privilege for the protection of sensitive operational details.

I believe the Fast and Furious operation has ended.

Someone should do an anal probe investigation of that convicted criminal ahole Issa. I am sure a lot of interesting things would turn up.

Issa's committee already has thousands of documents and Holder has testified several times. This is a BS attempt to cook up a fake conspiracy to hurt Obama's chances of being reelected.

This ridiculous operation started as an ATF operation called Gun runner in 2005. Then in 2006 it was named Operation Wide Receiver. It ended in 2007. Then in 2009 the ATF received funding, through the stimulus package, and reopened Operation Wide Receiver under the name Fast and Furious. It was still an ATF operation. Obama does not micro manage agencies; how could he. I am sorry to burst right wing bubbles but this is not even similar to the Watergate cover up.

The funniest thing about all of the wingnuts are claiming that Fast and Furious was an Obama plot to take away their guns. The theory is, Obama was going to get as many weapons into "those brown peoples hands". Then, when they illegally enter the US and start killing Americans, outraged citizens would start demanding gun control laws. It is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. Obama has said squat about gun control, and he won't if he wins a second term.

Speaking of "not similar", Wide Receiver and Fast and Furious were very, very different. I see however that the left will go to great lengths to squirm and spin, now suggesting that Fast and Furious is somehow tied to Bush. Nice try.

So the shovel ready jobs were for the morticians, who were probably the only folks to reap anything from Fast and Furious...

Yes, I was unclear. Fast and Furious was run under the umbrella of Project Gunrunner. That's still going.

Have you no shame? At long last, mister chairman, have you no shame?
I predict a backlash against the repubs and their tea sipping nannies.
The Blue House in November sounds good to me.

He was convicted of Illegal weapons charges.

Granted it was a misdemeanor but it is still a conviction.

He was also arrested several times for stealing cars. He got out of all of the charges. There is also a suspicious fire at a company he owned that was going bust. He got out of that one too. He is slick.

You know BH, I really hate Congress today; both sides of the aisle. I hate the insincere Presidential elections, I hate the thought of being controlled by corporations and Multi-national corporations. The return of the gilded age is not what I want to live under as I retire.

I am really considering leaving the US. I have the means to do it. We will see what happens.

Well, there's the ATF. Also Wikipedia.

Of course, there's The Google too.

Fast and Furious ended in 2010, Issa and his witch hunters were seeking information from Feb 2011 two months after the border agent was killed. Now if that does not smell like a dead herring I don't know what does.

Congress' approval rating stands at 15% but after this bit of tomfoolery it will likely drop to 10%. There is some rich Texan and friends running a supr PAC especially aiming at incumbents regardless of party.
