I think this is very telling. I witnessed this this morning on TV as well.
There is this sense that Sarah is an innocent young girl who needs to be protected from potential predators.
I have never seen this type of protectorate behavior for any other female in politics. Certainly not Pelosi or Clinton.
I heard people defend Bush by saying, "he's not stupid" but I never heard anyone say "I just have a problem with otherwise polite and decent men resorting to vulgar name calling of candidates."
Someone had suggested that this effect was do to her beauty. I tend to agree. True as this may be for those that agree with her politics it does not explain why people like myself are so repulsed by her. I can see what others refer to as her "good looks" but when the women talks my figure nails just cruel.
Go figure.
A lighting rod she is.

I know that I'll prolly get ripped a new one over this, but I feel that Palin is more of what used to be called a LADY, whereas Pelosi, Clinton, et al are just as mean, rough, and vulgar as most of the men in politics. Another thing that is Palin is what the braying jackasses on the Left have been bleating about for so long-Woman, wife, mother, successful in her field...And she's a conservative...Fuckin' ingrate ! How DARE she be so pretty as well...REAL Wymyn are sposed to resemble the north ends of southbound jackasses...An' Sarah's husband is a strong, handsome guy, not a milquetoast w/3" thick glasses that she leads around by his ear...

Couple of things.
How is Palin more of what used to be called a lady? Because she is prettier?
Honestly I find her every bit as mean rough and vulgar and way more repulsive (what repulses me is she is so proud to be anti smart)
I disagree that most people dislike her because she is a conservative, I think it is because a "career women" is generally a mom first and many think Sarah puts Sarah first. I know I do. I don't think to much of any women, left or right that puts herself in front of her child and or grandchild.
Reading your response makes me think that you are not looking objectively at why she is so despised, or so loved for that matter.
I'll betcha' I dislike more women (and men too for that matter) because of their personality rather than there politics. In Sarah's case I dislike both.
Also in Sarah's case (as I see it) she has been a piss poor mom and now crosses the country telling everyone she is just like us.
She ain't like me.
My kids come first in deed, not just in word.
You give me that same women (Palin) introduce me to her in 12 years, tell me how she turned down at shot at the VP job because she had a new born who was challenged and a daughter who was pregnant, tell me she spent these 12 years learning history, geography, domestic issues, international affairs and law while caring for that family and had sincerely announced that she realizes that her Minister is nuts and having him perform a ceremony to keep her free of witches was a political stunt, I still may not vote for her but I would respect her.
Now I don't.

Tell you what ol' pard, I couldn't have said it better myself.
Just calm down, take a happy pill, or a double shot...or both. She won't be the one to destroy our nation.

Maybe you should talk to someone about those feelings.
