Yeh, but it is the American Center for Law and Justice filing the lawsuit. It just has to be the right thing to do. Also, is it not a bit ironic that a Conservative group is turning to the (activist) courts to overturn a decision by local government? What about all the conservative hot buttons they seem to be turning against- judicial activism, local governance, property rights, .........?
I'm so confused.

Yeah, this is from the guy who actually blamed 9/11 on abortionists, feminists, gays, lesbians, the ACLU and People for the American Way.

Pat Robertson's participation in the litigation drains it of all credibility, makes it a blatantly religious attack on another religious mission, and hopefully subjects the lawyers to sanctions for frivolous litigation. It's one thing to disagree with the decision to build there, but once the proper authorities in New York have made their decisions, the plaintiff has no case.
Billy, you were just feeding us some red meat, weren't you.

In a previous post, I suggested that the opposition to the Muslim cultural center in New York could be a win-win for Al-queda, by interfering with a project by a Muslim opposed to radical Islam, and by showing the US as out to destroy Islam. Now slate has compared some of Newt Gingrich's statements to Osama Bin Laden, and makes it look like Gingrich did a fact-check to confirm Bin Laden's claims. Pretty dense for an alleged PHD.

I've always wondered about the characterization of Gingrich as an intellectual. To me, he is a friggin' hypocritical gadfly.

Gingrich is no intellectual, he is simply surrounded by idiots so he appears as such to them.

Yep. The same bunch thinks Glenn Beck is an historian and Boss Limbaugh is a political scientist and leader of an Institute For Advanced Conservative Studies. One would hope that this glorification of ignorance would finally run its course.
