Watched the first episode of https://www.pbs.org/kenburns/us-and-the-holocaust/ last night.

Once again humans are failing to learn from the past. Yet this time there is it appears no country that will be strong enough to stop the advances.

Proving how soon the next generations forget the past. Or is it just how weak and selfish the human race is.

No country has ever gone to war to stop genocide or crimes against humanity by another country. It wasn't that long ago that the European Colonial powers were enslaving millions and that those slaves died by the millions, and the United States was a slave owning country.

Prior to WWII the United States did not declare war on the Russians or the Japanese or the Germans to stop the genocide they were engaging in.

Post WWII the United States did not declare war on China because Mao was killing tens of millions.

The world is a better place now and the United States is more actively engaged than ever before in supporting human rights.

What if the US were to no longer be supportive? If, yes was a country aggressively openly supporting oppression. Would there be any countries strong enough to standup against the evil anymore?

Already have a few states run by fascists. The Right is telling us just who they are. Choosing not to listen or ignore the obvious in the vain hope that the worst will not happen. Truth and justice will prevail....
History has shown over and over again some lessons are never learned. Must be played out to their completion.

One could argue that the NATO intervention in Bosnia and Herzegovina was for the purpose of stopping a genocide after Bosnian Serbs attacked Srebrenica and Sarajevo in the summer of 1995, killing over 8,000 civilians.

^^^From the above, Trumpism is Fascism leaving no doubt.

Trump’s frightening rally in Ohio shows the media still doesn’t get it

Quote:
The display bore an uncanny resemblance to the infamous Nazi salute. The delusional incitement and zombie-like response should put to rest the notion that President Biden (or anyone) should be “reaching out” to these people. They are unreachable, and pretending otherwise misleads voters.

No Republican should ever escape an interview or news conference without being asked to condemn this monstrous event. The cynical GOP leaders who know that Trump is unfit for office and that many of his cult followers have become violent should not be treated as ordinary party hacks. They are enablers of a dangerous movement. Yet they continually evade persistent, aggressive questioning.
Best is to blow it up now, come what may since accommodations cannot be made and it will only get worse. Go after Trump now before the Cannon and Dearie even begin to run interference and urgency of this matter dissipates. Better to make felons out of the cult rather than allow democracy to be blown up and let Trump flout the laws.

Heck, even his attorneys are expecting an indictment, so why wait. Most importantly, where are the missing documents that were in those empty folders? Let him prove in a court of law that he had declassified them. The longer we wait, more talking points Faux puts out and more threats Trump makes.

Think I’ll look into joining this veterans group.

The USA did not declare war on Japan nor Germany to stop the genocides in which they were engaged. Touted morality and demonization of enemies is common practice in propaganda.
