Lots of religions and sects claim essential exclusive virtue in all matters physical, spiritual, and cosmic. I was raised in one of them, with a definite racial element of Eurocentric white virtue, claiming it was established as the one true faith as all others had irretrievably strayed from the true message of the true cosmic dogma.

After thinking about the likelihood of the entire universe and time itself being formed by a humanoid diety created in that image, all for the purpose of a particular humanoid demigod entity at the head of a particular religious sect on one particular planet in an incomprehensively vast universe, I had to let it go and move on. I didn't and don't have that kind or degree of faith over logic.

I made a mistake here...there is no "white death'' mentioned in the Bible.

Nothing further to say this morning.

Excellent analysis, Pio. In secret nd grade, I asked the nun about something in the catechism lesson that didnt seem to make a lot of logical sense to me, and she shot me a harsh look and moved on. I learned at that point that questioning the creed was verboten.

Repent for the end is near

the Wrath of God is upon us

He is not malicious, He is purging the world of evil.

If he can purge the world of evil, he should have done it at the get-go, seems to me.

This is more fun...sex, violence, and rock'n'roll.

And the weed.

There is a way that seems right, but it's end is death. - Ecclesiastes

Honestly, we really only have a glimpse of what he has in store for us. I suspect it will actually be pretty similar to what we have now, but with infinitely more love and faith. After all, were we not created as gardeners?

And that doesn't describe Christianity at all. It's the ONLY belief that teaches you simply can't be good enough to earn afterlife with your creator. You merely have to believe. And you can tell what a man believes by what he does. Grace is unique to Christianity and is not a part of ANY man made religion.

And to that end, there is an old Christian joke: When you get to heaven you will be surprised by three things:

1. There are people there you didn't expect to be there.
2. There are people missing that you expected to see there.
3. You're there.

Bullies and grifters, judging from the present political climate.

I tend to agree with that. There is one thing Smith and Muhammad have in common. They wrote an entire book on their own and claim it was handed down somehow to them alone from God. And they both used, as a starting point, Judaism and Christianity. Muhamad even quoted the "infancy gospel of Thomas".
