Guess lucky have to really think hard of anyone who changed that much over the years. If they were selfish and self centered still are. Maybe the draft and war had a big part in their attitudes? Still think if the draft was still hitting 18 year old's today they vote in a mass!
Think what you are seeing is the real person. Sure the years adding up make you be a little conservative if thinking of tomorrow. Not carefree and thinking old age will never come. In finances anyway.
The self employed it seems boils down to taxes. Insurance they complain about sure but paying taxes is the biggie!
As a union family this has kept me attuned to the unfairness in others.
You are right in the large segment that just don't seem to care enough to be informed with the correct information.

As suggested, likely a mentally-ill person. One reason to refund the police is to make more services for such persons available. People who behave in harmful ways have earned restraint--compassionate restraint if illness is the cause.

Thats why the Tony Timpa case makes me mad as all hell.

He was a mentally ill man who called the cops on HIMSELF. He was off his meds and knew he was having a manic episode.

They show up, detain him, start making fun of him non stop. He is crying "your going to kill me".

Towards the end of the vid he is given a shot. And is found to be dead when taken into the ambulance.

Then I read this story and cant help but wonder if that shot was a scenario like this.

If proven that would seem a slam dunk.

It sounds as if folks may well have died as a result of it. Which seems totally plausible. Cops dont know individuals medical conditions, reactions to an injection of k.

The whole story is crazy. And to do such things while they are restrained.

It was appalling.
