Rahm Emanuel was handed this mess by Richie Daley. Daley made Chicago a beautiful City. Well, OK pretty much everywhere but in the minority neighborhoods on the south side and the west side. He sold off every money making asset the city had, most notorious...the parking meter concession and the Chicago Skyway toll road and bridge. He spent money like a drunken sailor, in my case drunken jar head, in his case a drunken Irishman, and then what did he do? We walked away from the job just in time to not have to deal with any of the financial aftermath.

And now everybody with a fucking agenda is up Rahm Emanuel's ass because they don't like their bus line or elevated train line shut down, or their convenient half-empty neighborhood school shut down. Well...I'll tell ya what people...fuck all of them and every horse they rode in on.

We had a panel of local business people, educators, economists, and other informed posts on NPR the other day. They all have minor gripes with how and where Emanuel has chosen to apply austerity measures. But they all agree that there is not way out of this...no way for the city to avoid bankruptcy than to cut spending and significantly raise taxes. One even commented, "What the hell to they expect the guy to do?"

And all across the fruited plain we have an amazing bipartisan hate for Rahm Emanuel. The right hates him because he's Obama's roundball buddy and political ally, the left hates him because...because...he isn't Bernie Sanders...the left hates everybody who isn't Bernie Sanders. Emanuel is the only guy who brings this country together.

This disingenuous bullshit includes the BLM activists on the streets of Chicago who conveniently ignore facts such as the fact that police killings and woundings of Chicago citizens are at a 9 year low. But Rahm and Alvarez and McCarthy just gotto go because one fucked up lunatic cop when berserk and took it upon himself to be Laquan McDonald's street judge, jury and executioner.

Hating Rahm Emanuel is more popular than the iPhone 6s Plus. Bullshit.

Took until about dinner time last night for this story to hit the local TV news. Haven't heard anything about it since.

The story was all over the national and international media all day though. Maybe the reason the locals didn't report it until dinnertime is that they didn't have a scheduled news broadcast until dinnertime.
