The building in Manhattan I lived in looked just like Jerry's. In fact the dinner featured so prominently was only a few blocks away and I ate there all the time. Friends by contrast my oldest daughter thought was hysterical and I never so much as broke a smile watching it.
One of my favorite singers, Suzanne Vega, wrote Tom's Diner while in Tom's Restaurant. I still use the a cappella version to test speakers. Have you eaten there? If so, what type of food do they serve?

Well, of course he was straight. Suzanne Pleshette was an out and out fox.

I'm not sure that either party has benefited from this debacle. In fact, the biggest losers could be the Tea Party. I just read poll results last night showing greatly diminished support for them after the latest news. FWIW, Obama has suffered (in the polls, anyway) less than anyone else (Congress or the Tea Party). In fact, his numbers right now (to include unemployment numbers) are exactly where Reagan's were at this time in his first term. 16 months is an eternity in politics.

Yep, that's the way I see it too. All the chest beating McConnell did about "victory" for the GOP and the Tea Party, just confirmed my suspicions that these people are idiots, or at least they think we are. Nobody on either side "won" anything in that mess. The cuts will be insufficient, the ceiling is raised, and there will be no real payment on the debt......What has been won? What "victory"?

I think Karl should have included a "None of the above." choice in his poll.

It's not a decision. With you, it's always spin. What happened in the last election? Why did it happen? What was the debate about?
Get a clue.
