Nothing to do with good or bad it has to do with values.
She parades values that are opposite the ones many have worked so hard to instill in their children.
I am curious, why did you make your reply personal?
Sadly, that is exactly the kind of division Palin inspires.
Be honest, did you see her 18 minute resignation?
Can you honestly say that is the way was you would want a President to speak to the world?
I will agree that she is the most divisive politician in our lifetime.
You replied to me in the same manner Palin attackers people who disagree with her. You finish with a straw-man and evade the substance of the post. Personally, I don't hate her, I am repulsed by her and angered at the republicans for placing such a dysfunctional women at the top of the party.

Palin
Just one quick word then I gotta hit it.
If Palin were a Democrat who subscribed to the far left doctrine, she would be considered a breath of fresh air in some circles. And probably not much liked by the Right.
If Obie were white, he would have never made it to Harvard, and would probably be selling used cars in Hawaii...or Kenya.
It's the political climate that's divisive, not so much the players. Just actors on a stage.

I believe she would struggle mightily to score average on an IQ test. This along with her less than the average real life experiences and assumption of approval leaves her to act as an imbecile.

Re-read your posts in this thread. You are the one who made it personal with your ugly attacks. I just wanted to hold the same light up to you. I find it odd that 95% of all attacks on Mrs. Palin go straight to her personal life. You rarely hear the left attack her governing record. Oh, they tried, with an army of so called journalists scouring a small town in Alaska for anyone who would accuse her of any wrong doing. Some even tried with 15 allegations of "ethics" violations, all which were disproved at a personal cost to Palin of over 500,000 dollars. I applaud her grit and determination for standing up to the small minded, power hungry left that would have her burned at the stake if they could. As far as Mrs. Palin inspiring division, it's not so with me. I was divided from the left long before she came on to the scene.

I just reread all my posts in this thread and I clearly did not make it personal. My attacks are at her not you nor any other poster. It is common to attack a politician that you strongly disagree with.
Couple of things:
What government record? It barley exists. She was a Governor a year.
She underwent the same scrutiny as any other politic an wanting to be President has.
She is selling her personal life as an all American value based family. She brought her family into it more than any other politician ever has. No one way streets in running for President.
It was one of her few acts as a legislator that lead to her own legal problems. BTW she was not found criminally responsible but she was said to have misused her power in one case and made to pay back monies in another.
"grit and determination"? what are you talking about? She quite. This has been her life's pattern. I do think she is determined however, it's just that she is not sharp enough to use that determination in a wise manner. A determined idiot is still an idiot.
I seldom use terms like left and right to describe people because they are so inaccurate. I like to think that we are all Americans with different beliefs and experiences that I can learn from.
I believe you when you say you were "divided from the left long before she came on to the scene." I in all honesty can say that I was hopping to get my party back after George but instead was further alienated. In fact to an absurd level.
To be honest I have never felt so hostile toward any candidate for anything. I feel she is an insult to my family and I. I do take it a bit personal that what had been my party and what is my country put forth the proposition that this imbecile should lead us. This is not and has not directed at any individual on this or any other board.

Palin is a divisive political figure, she is hardly a breath of fresh air (whether she is part of the left or right)--never has been. She is a political opportunist, and from my listening to her speak, not very bright either. Her ethics are very questionable too.

I didn't mean to say it was directed towards me, I just have a problem with otherwise polite and decent men resorting to vulgar name calling of women. I must admit though, if you were beating up on Boxer or Pelosi, I probably wouldn't get so upset about it. I think most people that jumped on the Palin wagon did so because she "didn't" have the resume. She never did anything like a "normal" politician. She took on her own party when they were wrong, and also big oil. If nothing else, you have to give her credit for that.

Problem is that she got totally played on the gas and oil deals, and she completely mischaracterized the progress and positive aspects on the campaign trail.
