Yeah it helps we can get fighting made at each other and then go have a beer, my point is there is no reason most people shouldn't be able to do that, it only takes one person to exercise some self control. It should still be the goal and both teams are equally guilty of spewing hate towards each other, nothing will change this way!!

Yes but one lone voice won't change the direction of the party. We've already seen what happens when one disagrees with the main group.

A larger perceived threat will have to come along before that drawing together can happen. Ever wonder why nations we consider a terrorist threat are leaving us alone at the moment?

Steve Scalise, the GOP House Majority Leader, was himself shot with an AR-15 but he (and his entire caucus) is still is against any type of gun safety laws.

One facet of AR-15 ownership is gang colors. Having one marks a person as on the right side in the culture war, indeed, to be 'one of us' you are supposed to have one. It's funny that they can't imagine a reason for you to have one, since that did not apply. Sort of suggests that's the main reason.

And this is why a lot of PD's feel compelled to have SWAT vehicles in their arsenal. If you are trying to make a case for owning AR's, its not working.

The basic fallacy in your argument is this. You have been on this Gandhian trip, "lets all get together and talk" while one side insists that they will never give up their assault weapons. So what is there to talk?

Legislation is the only answer but that will not come about until we reach a breaking point where there are deaths within the group that promotes gun ownership or makes these gun ownership laws. Why does Wayne LaPierre needs round the clock security and lives in a gated community?

That was completely tongue in cheek in a thread about semi automatic weapons.

And when I say we need civil dialogue it needs to start with our elected officials. Both teams extreme factions in the government started us down this path. Hell look at the wackos "yelling" at each other on this site.

The discourse is a 2 way street.

No argument from me about legislation but we will never get there in the current environment. The far right will not give an inch because of the apparent gun grab and the far left says they aren't after "all guns" but that's just lip service.

As someone mentioned up thread, round and round, its not going to stop.

Edit: and I should add my 30 rd Mags are not for the wacko hate group of the moment, they are for when the damn zombies come. And my 15 rd pistol mags are just left overs from my LEO service weapon days. My CC pistol holds 7.

Regarding the 'power rush' I get from my"penis substitute", it's not from shooting it.

My AR shotgun works best from it's 5 shot magazine, and I can carry with an open chamber, with the tip of a yellow 20 gauge shell visible from both sides of the gun.

It's much safer for me than a tube fed shotgun, because i can see when it's safe and when it's ready to go. The rush isn't from shooting it, the recoil hurts enough that it's not fun on my old body.

The rush is from pushing the little lever just above the trigger, and having the first round chamber instantly, ready to run.

Pray and spray does not apply. I have a a gold circle reticle optic on top, also magnificent.

It's ugly, it's heavy, but the operation of a state of the rock thrower is just facinating to me. It doesn't hurt to have an equalizer on hand, with the all Four Reichers running around.

A many served in our Military most deployed. From WWII to recent times. Navy Marines with honor. Ask them and it is wanting the weapon carried by the military. For home defense come in also as a reason.

I don’t choose to bring weapons to these events because it is a family setting. They do go off away down to a field and shoot. Most forget I own firearms because of my views and never flash a piece to show off or carry.

True for many it is fine and dandy for them to own. It is the others who should not! Others include non white or Libs!
