A little comic relief from Garrison Keillor:
The government is in Republican hands. Let them deal with him. Democrats can spend four years raising heirloom tomatoes, meditating, reading Jane Austen, traveling around the country, tasting artisan beers, and let the Republicans build the wall and carry on the trade war with China and deport the undocumented and deal with opioids, and we Democrats can go for a long, brisk walk and smell the roses.

Thanks for posting that article.
While I hate to imagine the negative impact on so many citizens, I have to admit.... There will be some satisfaction in watching Trump fail at his new job.

It'll be interesting to see if the GOP has the capacity to govern after 8 years of obstruction, not to mention their insistence that government is broken. Now, they are the government.

Oh hell. If you think the repubs last 8 years was obstructionist, you ain't seen nothing yet. I have no doubt the Dems won't even wait until January 20 to start raising hell.

And you'll have no reason to bitch if they follow McConnell's lead from 8 years ago.
It'll be interesting to see if establishment-type Republicans (Graham, Ryan, Sasse, Flake, McCain, etc.) put up any meaningful resistance to Trump's harebrained ideas.

Why not? Hell, if I only logged 1/3 the posts you and some others did about the repubs being the "party of no", I'd still wear out a bunch of keyboards.

Which "harebrained" ideas might you be referring to?
