Been listening to the Stones Let it Bleed and Dire Straits Brothers in Arms to test a pair of speakers I rewired for a friend. They had 15" Altec drivers and EV horn tweeters. It appeared that they originally had an l-pad and a 4 uf cap. I put a Solen 3.9 uf in each one before the l-pad and replaced all of the internal wiring with 14 awg. I also added binding posts, which I do anytime I change caps. They are way to big for my office, but they sound pretty good.

Guess you mean L-pad. Reads like I-pad in this gothic font, which had me puzzled a bit....

I wish for big woofers, and a big room to put them in....

Nice. Those are both great recordings for testing speaks.

I have a pair of 15" Altecs waiting for some cabs that I keep procrastinating on. Someday I'll have to get around to it.
