Got a new thing on the project list, off the curb. This model but not redone (yet  ):

Old machinist trick.  I keep all the metal tools in my shop wiped down like that and don't have any rust trouble even on tools that i seldom use. Keep the rag handy and wipe every tool as you put it away and you can hand them down for generations.

Mmmm cutting oil! None in 'The Shed' (yet! soon :grin: ) but the torpedo heater'll be fired up shortly. Classy 'odour'
How about 20 year old gear oil, during a differential oil change? And it's right in the rules, you have to be saturated in it or you're doing it wrong
