Based on Rick Perry's indictment, it's been said that you can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. I am sure LE is hoping to squash this case.

So in a homicide investigation you would trust the killer to give an accurate account rather than eye witnesses that happened to be on the scene.

Were there actually credible witnesses that saw it and just didn't hear something from someone that said they did?
We don't take just the LEOs word, there has to be corroborating evidence either way.
