Once you put 'die' into the equation you can justify anything.

Or can you? That's sort of the question. 'Anything' might include, for example, 1000 nukes on West Africa. You can think of it as the old public health tactic of dynamiting homes, writ large....

So quarantine if it is truly justified, and quarantine people that clinically need to be, but the only criteria can be danger of infection. Anything else is excess, and we need to avoid fear of death pushing us into panic and excess.

HIV is blood borne and must come into contact with the bloodstream in order to be transmitted. But it can be carried in bodily fluids other than blood and can be transmitted through mucous membranes. Thus transmission in semen during sex, even though there is no direct introduction into the bloodstream. It can even be passed from mother to child through breast milk and oral mucous membranes in the child in cases where the fetus was not infected in utero.

From aids.gov...

Mucous membrane or damaged tissue where direct contact with the bloodstream is possible are mechanisms of transmission.
I didn't say airborne, gun jumper. And while HIV not aids, aids is not a virus it is a disease cause by HIV, can be transferred through other fluids all those fluids are blood borne.

Ebola can be transmitted through saliva, HIV cannot unless the person infected has an open wound in their mouth. Ebola can be transmitted through almost any bodily fluid so guess what it isn't nitpicking its a fact that it's easier to transmit then HIV. Not airborne but far more infectious then HIV.

The entire basis of this conversation is deadly disease! I don't recall mentioning nuking Africa At this stage I would agree, that would be just a teenie bit excessive lol.

Consider my post a general expression of concern over panic and extreme measures. I'm OK with quarantine of individuals who individually show evidence of possible infection.

There is some scientific sources who seem to believe this strain of the disease could be airborne.

If the policeaman in Texas who visited the apartment comes down with this disease then I extremely skepitcal of it being hard to catch. However Duncan's fiance has not caught any symptoms yet from what I have heard on the news.

I wouldn't debate anything you've said above. It's certainly more infectious than HIV, absolutely. That said...careful universal precautions will keep anybody from being infected. Like I've already stated...don't stick the finger of your surgical glove that has come into contact with an Ebola patient's blood, pee, shit, spit, semen, etc., up your ass and you'll stay healthy.

On the upside, some company selling 'Ebola Protection in a Bucket' is getting rich off the hysterical lamestream media circus surrounding this one guy from Liberia who tragically experienced our deadly 'healthcare for profit' system.

Bob, as sad as it is, it was his own fault.
