Ever anticipated some extra money coming in - something like a bonus or a large tax refund - and thought of ten ways to spend it before it even arrived. Not that I've ever done that, mind you. It sounds like the powers that be had a similar weakness.

Regards,

D-Ray

To coin a new word we could call it 'idiotology'.

Here's an interesting take on Boehner's economics speech a couple of nights ago calling it"Super-Duper Hypocrisy So Brazen They Must Really Think We’re Idiots." Indeed.

Let's see who blinks first, or if we compromise ourselves again.

That is the problem. The GOP sees this as a game of chicken or a blinking contest, notwithstanding the fact that their economic policies were, in large measure, responsible for getting us to this point. I think the nation is wising up to the hypocrisy/incompetence of the GOP in economic matters.

Really? I've just been debating with some friends who still think the GOP is totally blameless and our only hope for survival.............

And, the Tea Party is once again amassing in DC, as I type, to protest in favor of the Ryan budget plan. Another friend of mine was stuck in traffic for two hours on his way to work this morning because of it. Bus loads of people from as far away as Iowa.

I don't doubt that for a minute, but rational Americans (i.e., those outside the Tea Party and Fox/Talk Radio universe) see through this charade (I hope). The trouble is that H.L. Mencken's axiom comes into play: "Nobody ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American public."

The same goes for pandering for votes by the very same politicians who got us into the mess to begin with.
