At any point Zim could have simply disengaged.

and/or identified himself as a NW volunteer. I'm sure that had he done so even after the altercation was underway the dead kid would have disengaged and the police would have been able do their job.

And who exactly do you suggest we pray to?
Truly if it is to heal the wounds need to be cleansed first.

I wonder if there was an informal but established relationship between Zimmerman and the Sanford police before the killing? They sure did seem rather overbearing in their willingness to chauffeur him around and let him explain his side of the story after he shot the kid. Does everyone get that treatment?
Were they giving preferential treatment to an annoying but friendly citizen? I wonder if he was a regular...
you remember sick bay commandos Dave? was he one of those sorts? so much of an frequent caller to the cops he becomes a departmental friend?

Yeah and if you work in Medical you sort of get used to seeing them so often they become almost like staff....sort of the friendly customer you see everyday. I wonder if anyone in the police viewed Zimmerman like that well before the killing.
I mean people are put in jail and forced to wait months for trials even if they are innocent....
Zimmerman goes home that night? Or soon after? really?
