The Best Of The Song Book: Ella Fitzgerald
Meaning the best of the American Song Book.

She really made my day wonderful.

I had a Jethro Tull day a few weeks ago, those and 'Thick As A Brick'. Lot of fun.

Got sidetracked looking through the stacks.
'Nilsson Schmilsson' and now 'Question Of Balance' as reference material.
I'm still diggin' these Mullard/Blackburn tubes.

I was at the Goodwill last night and picked up a couple of Sasaki champagne glasses and a Waterford wine glass, but while I was standing in line the guy behind me had a copy of "Bobby Darin sings Ray Charles" on LP. This just doesn't sound right to me, but I may have to find a download and see.

I lip-synced Bobby Darin doing "Mack the Knife" in high school drama class. I made a complete ass of myself, but thoroughly enjoyed it.

AFAIK the 12AT7 isn't a drop in replacement for the 12AX7 but that may depend on the circuit.
Maybe Steve will chime in here?
No worries on asking questions. As they say, the only dumb ones are those that go unasked.

The AMP175 uses two 12AX7's. Unfortunately Blackburn Mullard AX7's are a fair bit more expensive than their AT7 counterpart. I do have a couple of old BB long plates though that sound pretty luscious. I may actually have a couple short plates I could send for an audition if I can find them. I know I have Tele, Amperex, and Mullard, just not sure if the Mullards are Blackburns or not.

Probably not near as much of an ass as I felt butchering Van Morrison's "Moondance" on my first Karaoke attempt.

I'm good for now Marc. I have a three of those amp175s sitting on the shelf gathering dust, one of them has a nice pair of Telefunken ribbed plate AX7s that I scrounged from a Tandberg RtR at an estate sale. The RtR is residing with Frannie in B-more courtesy of an AK auction. That's pretty cool that she was voted member of the year over there.

I have 12AT7 instead of a 12AX7 in my Maggie SEP AMP and it seems to be doing ok.
Plus I put them in a my Music Angel pre-amp.
I think the AT7s are direct drop-ins with less gain.
