Yesterday, I picked up a CD of the original Tommy. I had a three hour drive today, so it was a perfect time to re-visit that classic. Boy did it take me back. I can remember when the album has been out for just a bit - long enough to make it to the list for Record Club of America. Man it was exciting to open that box and pull out the double album set. And most of it has aged pretty well. There are some terrific instrumentals - including Pete Townsend demonstrating his sense of humor - with the Overture and the Underture. Daltry's vocals were in top form. There are only a couple of weak spots in the whole production. It certainly made the trip over the Kansas Plains much more interesting. (Jeff Beck's Wired helped a bit too.)
Regards,
D-Ray

Back in my hippie-dippie high school years, we studied Tommy for a couple of weeks in English class. I can still remember every word and note of that album. Good stuff.

Don Henley, Dirty Laundry via Bob's U-tube link.
Sounds fine near field on my computer setup, which includes a Pioneer SA-520, a little Klipsch powered subwoofer, one orphan JBL J520M (used to be 2 but lost a woofer), and one orphan Paradigm Titan.

Here's a good one Don. That sounds like a good computer set up btw.
