Thot the family legal counsel admitted the guy on the video was Michael Brown. Too bad for everyone the encounter with the LEO wasn't also recorded, this does look like someone that would ambush a routine encounter to avoid apprension afterward.
BTW I loathe the legalistic weasel word "alleged", especially when applied to a hand in a cookie jar. Al Capone was allegedly a gangster, the surface of the sun is allegedly warm, ect, ect.

I can say that there have been some good thought provoking posts on the topic here from folks with field experience with the related issues.

That's been my position from the get-go (and still is). I was never laboring under the impression that the kid was a saint, nor that the cop was a bad cop. For whatever reason, this incident has been used by many to confirm their own biases.

This is somewhat similar to the Treyvon Martin incident insofar as it appears the deceased was complicit in his demise, but this time as the instigator rather than as the correspondent as in Florida.

Those arrested are presumed innocent so they are alleged perpetrators.

Being found not guilty gets me since the dynamic is innocent/guilty.

The Law & Order opening reflects our society's presumption of guilt: "In the Criminal Justice System the people are represented by two separate, yet equally important groups. The police who investigate crime and the District Attorneys who prosecute the offenders. These are their stories."

Yes, presumed innocent, court of law, not guilty, and all that. Our for-profit justice system tends to follow the money following the most adept debater over the facts when the politics don't sway things.
O.J. Simpson comes to mind as a costly sorry mess staged in a courtroom as one example. Otherwise, too many times the system punches it's time card without protecting the public from those demonstrably too dangerous to share free public space, the utter worthlessness of restraining orders comes to mind.

So you take the word of the cop that says there was a struggle for his weapon?

where is the evidence for that? The cops word?

Where's the beef? I will shut up when I see documented evidence Brown tried to take the weapon. You think with rioting in the streets they would be serving up evidence of Browns effort to disarm the cop.

Most likely that cop will not work again. I would not call that being a good cop.

If Brown had just strong-armed a store out of merch one might assume he wasn't up to a civil interchange with a LEO and would blindside him to evade apprehension.

At this point, I'm not taking nobody's word on anything. I'm awaiting the results of the investigation. FWIW, I think it's more likely that the victim initiated a struggle with the cop than the cop simply drove up and executed an innocent man in the middle of the street just for grins. However, both are possible. I'm content to wait and see.

Some one link me an official explanation from the Ferguson Police department on how and why he was shot in the street. Am I missing something I just woke up.
Did they release the official report overnight on the altercation in the street?
Audio or video.

My gut feeling is this cop, like most of them, usually do not lie when writing out their reports. The police report is probably too damaging to release. I think they are sitting on bad news that only gets worse with time.

If you shoot an unarmed man in the street you cannot just say "oh he tried to grab my gun" and sort of brush it under the rug. Until I hear otherwise I will continue posting.
