IMHO, the police in this country are out of control. They give you commands that are impossible to do while they have your arm almost broken behind your back then taze you for good measure. I think a lot of it's fear. here'a an idea, if you're skeert of criminals, don't be a cop dumbshit. I'd guess there are maybe 10 good ones (in it for the right reason which is to keep people safe and help weaker folk) for every 100 I tend to do the police work at my place so they can take care of those that can't take care of themselves. I'll say one more thing, they need to read and know the constitution before they step into that cruiser.

The Madison police officer charged with assault in the violent stop of an Indian citizen will face trial two weeks earlier.
District Judge Jeanne Anderson in Limestone County this week moved up the bench trial to April 15. This will be Officer Eric Parker's first court appearance since the case drew international attention.
Parker has been charged with assault for a confrontation on a Madison sidewalk that left a 57-year-old Indian citizen partially paralyzed and in need of spinal surgery. The man, Sureshbhai Patel, has since received a formal apology from the governor. Parker was fired.

Federal charge for ex-cop in confrontation with Indian man
Quote:
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (AP) — A former Alabama police officer has been charged with violating the civil rights of an Indian man who was injured during a violent confrontation, authorities said Friday.
Former Madison police officer Eric Sloan Parker is charged with using unreasonable force that left Sureshbhai Patel partially paralyzed. The 57-year-old grandfather was slammed face-first to the ground in the Feb. 6 confrontation, which was captured on video.
Parker will plead not guilty, defense attorney Robert Tuten said.
"We are shocked, disappointed and overwhelmed by all the ways Eric Parker is coming under attack," Tuten said in an email. "However, we are looking forward to seeing the indictment and having our day in court."
