True but HE can still be charged with 2nd degree murder, or manslaughter.

DOJ, (the rights second favorite punching bag after the prez), Eric Holder said there will be an investigation.
Think I'll turn on my trusty Tivoli to see if the Great Fat Ones head has exploded yet.....

Well, second degree murder charges have been filed. Zimmerman is in custody. There will now be a trial similar to the King trial and the OJ trial. Let the media circus begin anew.

Second degree murder in Florida would be:
Murder with a Depraved Mind
Murder with a Depraved Mind occurs when a person is killed, without any premeditated design, by an act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind showing no regard for human life.
The primary distinction between Premeditated First Degree Murder and Second Degree Murder with a Depraved Mind is that First Degree Murder requires a specific and premeditated intent to kill.
Does this apply? Hmmm....

No, I don't think that his action was premeditated. I suspect that the likely outcome will be manslaughter. The other problem is going to be obtaining an impartial jury of his peers. I'd like to see some charges brought against those that fanned the flames in this case. Surely, others have been harmed by the intense rhetoric emanating from the media frenzy and hyped race baiting by those that make a living from such endeavors.

Now the real fun begins.

The fact remains that black on black crime is a far larger problem than this aberration. A fact that Jackson, Sharpton, et al, seem to deliberately miss.
You are quite correct wrt the fun part. A media circus and constant coverage will be a boon to court TV.

Do what? Did I say anything 'bout race?
No, no, my good man. This is all about laws written by well moneyed and powerful rightwing "interest groups" to protect gun freaks who wanna play neighborhood enforcer. It's a slap in the face to the NRA.
That's what this is about. The race thing is a distracter.......................
Or, at the most, a catalyst.

The most sane statement I heard today was from Trayvon's mother. She stated that she knows that justice will be served. We can do without Sharpton's incendiary commentary.
