Correct and I worked for the US manufacturing arm of Bell Canada and Bell Northern Research (BNR) was our brain trust. I used to travel frequently to meet with engineers at BNR.

My bro-in-law from here in Chicago is one of those guys. He started in 1964 at age 18 in the engineering department at Automatic Electric (the General Telephone System), and through a series of puchases and mergers ended up a Lucent technical sales guy decades later. He called it "sleeping with the enemy." He's a smart guy and managed to get an excellent early retirement deal the year before Lucent's stock price collapsed in the fall of 2002.

That is not the original wording of Tom Joad's post, yet you say nothing to indicate that you changed it. This is not the first time you have operated in this manner. It is neither cute nor clever.

I've mentioned this before, and received a resounding PFFFFffffftttt...from the members herein. But one more time...on almost every forum where I've been a member it's bad forum etiquette (on most, as bad as it gets) to edit somebody else's quote. Even for fun with a "fixed that for ya" comment.
Just sayin...

I distinguish where one acknowledges that he has altered a quote to make a point - that is commentary, and most recognize it as such. But to change a post without acknowledging that it was done - that misrepresents the statements of the person being quoted. It is a falsehood.
