OK, he knows he's going to lose the election and so 'due to health problems' he'll resign and then Pence will pardon him to keep him out of jail.

I've been speculating for a LONG time that Pence would pardon him at the last minute. This wasn't how I expected it to play out, but it's a great scenario. He can't hide from the NY AG, though, so he'll do some hard time, if he survives this.

In that case, I hope he does survive it. I live to see him in an orange jumpsuit.

Brian Klaas @brianklaas

Four years ago, today: Donald Trump was mocking Hillary Clinton for contracting an illness - pneumonia - and implying that it showed she was weak.

George Conway @gtconway3d

He failed to protect the country.

He couldn't even protect himself.

Trump To Be Hospitalized At Walter Reed Following Coronavirus Diagnosis

https://www.npr.org/2020/10/02/91969...irus-diagnosis

Quote:
Press Barbie Kayleigh McEnany said that "President Trump remains in good spirts, has mild symptoms, and has been working throughout the day. Out of an abundance of caution, and at the recommendation of his physician and medical experts, the President will be "working" from the presidential offices at Walter Reed for the next few days. President Trump appreciates the outpouring of support for both he and the First Lady."
Uh-huh. "Mild" symptoms, yet headed to the hospital. Nope. It's serious.

Journalists, beware: This White House can’t be trusted to be truthful about Orange Shitstain's health

https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifes...43f_story.html

Quote:
With President* Trump apparently struck by covid-19 a month before a critical election and after 200,000 American deaths from the disease, what we really need right now is an entirely credible, fact-based voice from the White House.

Good luck with that.

The Greek philosopher Diogenes was said to have wandered the streets of Athens with a lantern searching in vain for someone to speak the truth. I don’t think he’d have any better luck at the top level of the executive branch right now, despite our extraordinary need for trustworthy communication.

With the exception of Anthony S. Fauci, and maybe a few other top medical experts, there isn’t a trusted truth-teller in sight.

“Donald Trump’s way of dealing with negative news is consistent: Hide it, spin it, and always lie about it,” said Tim O’Brien, a Trump biographer and now a Bloomberg Opinion columnist who was once sued, unsuccessfully, by the then-developer.

...

Once upon a time, when a president or his press secretary made a statement on an crucially important matter, it was simply considered news. And reported as such.

The time for that is long past. The stakes are higher than ever, and the demand for proof should be, too.

Otherwise, Americans will reasonably come to an unavoidable conclusion: If the statement is from the president’s tweet, or from the press secretary’s mouth, there’s no reason to think it’s true.
