i think many take a stand that voicing an opinion outside of political correctness is hate. It's not. It's speech outside the confines of political correctness.

You're right, they're not. Nor is anyone suggesting that.

But some of those same "Trump detractors" not opposed to suggesting that Trump and his supporters are if they can score some cheap rhetorical points. They would label legitimate commentary as hate speech, probably because they have no desire to engage in any legitimate debate about it.
