He will never live this down.

Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas) raised the ante in the battle over the Affordable Care Act on Sunday, telling CNN’s Candy Crowley that “destroying the entire planet is really the best and only way to stop Obamacare.”

“Look, I’m in favor of shutting down the government and not raising the debt ceiling, but let’s not kid ourselves. Those are only half measures,” he told Crowley. “If we are really serious about stopping Obamacare, we’ll destroy the entire planet.”

Really? Cruz said that? Nevertheless, coming from a group who envisioned themselves as William Wallace-esque warriors fighting the English Crown, I'm nae surprised, laddie. They must've had to take a piss break during the last five minutes of the movie 'Brave Heart' when their favorite actor was drawn and quartered.

"Stand with Cruz! I don't care what the 14th Amendment says, you do what the Constitution says and stop raising the debt limit when you are in debt."
That's about par, even that idiot Gingrich was quoted as saying the Framers were right in setting the debt limit. It was set by some idiots in Congress in 1917, do any Americans know theit history?

I doubt that he could even do that right.

So, the sky didn't fall? If the teapot's calmed down maybe we can all have some Earl Grey.

The 'destroy the planet' bit was satire, BTW, from 'The Borowitz report' at the New Yorker.

Some other Borowitz headlines form recent days:

CRUZ: “THE DREAM OF KEEPING POOR PEOPLE FROM SEEING A DOCTOR MUST NEVER DIE”

RAND PAUL PROPOSES REOPENING JUST ENOUGH OF GOVERNMENT TO HOLD NEW HEARINGS ON BENGHAZI

POLL: AMERICANS DIVIDED OVER WHAT WILD ANIMAL THEY WOULD LIKE TO SEE CONGRESS MAULED BY

HOSTAGE-TAKERS CALL COMPARISONS TO TEA PARTY “HURTFUL”
Delicious stuff!
