There were failures but who doesn't screw up, now and then? IMO Fox, Drudge and these other self entitled partisan hacks can kiss my ass until the investigation is done. It's a political football. Damn shame people had to die, but it happens all of the time.
Case in point.
Boss told me to climb in the bucket of a backhoe and go do some mindless task, and I told him to forget it. He finally got some rube to do it...but if it was such a good idea, why the fuck didn't he do it?
I don't put up with that shit, and I don't expect anyone else to do it either.
I don't have a hell of a lot of respect for people who try to get me to do something that they don't have the guts to do themselves.
And if I DO do it, and I ask for something, and they don't deliver...the deals off.
I can tolerate an idiot, so long as he's not going to kill or maim me out of stupidity.
Let's cut to the chase. If Obama refused fire support for these people who were dying, while he knew of the situation, does that meet with your approval?
It doesn't with mine.

But I was never someone who would do something stupid because I was told to.

No, I was suggesting that if the roles were reversed, Fox would be screaming treason. Fox would often refer to those questioning the Iraq war as disloyal or treasonous. The conduct in this case - compromising intelligence - is worse than conduct that Fox had in the past described as treasonous, but you would never hear them acknowledge that.
BTW, the source for the information upon which I relied was that liberal rag, the Wall Street Journal.
I'm not sure about your source of information, but as far as denying security, the WSJ article brings that into question. From that, it appears that the CIA had taken the responsibility for much of the security at the consulate.

D-Ray

Superb response.
As for as information, I'm relying on disinformation much as everyone else.
And I do agree with you, the WSJ is a liberal rag.

I would expect that the CIA is quite schooled on the subject of disinformation. One might suspect that the agency recognized in this instance that a disinformation campaign was gaining a foothold, and it therefore acted. One might also suggest that it provided disinformation in its response. In this instance, however, the details provided by the CIA seem more plausible than the yarn being spun by the noise machine.
To the extent that covert operations or operatives were drawn into the attack, it does make sense to me that the information coming out from the administration would be slow and sketchy.

D-Ray

As more and more facts come out, it seems damn near nothing reported on Faux has been correct.

Just in case you don't have a dictionary....heh.
scur·ril·ous/ˈskərələs/Adjective: 1.Making or spreading scandalous claims about someone with the intention of damaging their reputation: "a scurrilous attack".
from Google dictionary.

Had to look up that word, didja? Picking out one word, and leaving out the context of the rest of that article, is par for your course.

Pardon my excessive curiousity but just where exactly would fire support have come from? If you are referring to the people in the consulate do you imagine for a minute that they would ask for permission to fire when being fired upon?
The premises that have been put forward in this thread so far have been so mindless it worries me for the future of this nation.
