Wow! He is now singing with Mr Americana Willie Nelson!

They're just new to the HT system. They are the ADC that I had redone and had in the living room. According to the better half, they are too big to have in the living room with company coming in.

I suppose one could say that the ADC speakers are new speakers in a way - because they are really no longer ADC speakers. Someone else had replaced the woofers. I refinished them, re-worked the crossovers, and replaced the paper cone tweeters with some silk domes. As a result of what I am sure is complete happenstance, they actually sound pretty good. But when you're listening to Van Morrison and SRV, what's not going to sound good. (BTW, playing the DVDs on a Pioneer Elite player that I found for two bucks at a garage sale.)

Pop singer Lulu appeared on the Martin Scorsese video. I had thought of her as a pop singer, anyway, but her rendition of "Cry Me a River" with Jeff Beck was a thing of beauty.

Regards,

D-Ray

Catching a special on the boob tube -Eric Clapton / Robert Johnson. Mesmerizing stuff thru the bedroom HT set up. Marantz Sr780 5.1 with four of the smaller Advents re capped and re foamed by yours truly.

Eric expaining just how hard it is to do Robert's tunes is educational. People talk about how Hendrix is so hard to reproduce as at times you'ld swear that it must have been overdubbed. Robert Johnson took it to the next level in that one guy is sitting there with an old acoustic and you can hear three people playin' at times and a fourth singing. It's no wonder that the story of Robert trading his soul to the devil down at the crossroads for the ability to be the best guitar player ever still resonates to this day.

One day, while waiting my turn in the checkout lane of my local Farm Fresh I noticed the cashier, a 50-ish African American woman, was wearing a name tag that said, "P. Floyd". When my turn came, I asked her what the "P" stood for.
She said, with a smile, "Phyllis, but everybody calls me Pink, like the rock band.".

Somehow, I thought that was cool.

In the same store a few years later, they had a cashier named "Chevelle". She caught me reading the name tag and snapped, "Yeah, I'm named after a dad-durn car. Why everybody gotta stare an' make jokes? I can't help what my crazy ass daddy named me."
