C'mon Dude.

Get your facts straight.

Number one Nixon didn't take office till Jan. 20, 1969.

So the biggest year 1968, is owned by Johnson.

Add up everything from 1969 on.

It ain't 35K

Number two, you are using the same logic as the right wingers are when they blame the sorry state of the economy on Obama who inherited a clusterfuck from his predecessor.

And number three, try not to put me in a position again where I'm defending a Goddamned Republican. I hate that.

Whatever Reagan had going for himself, a working relationship with truth and an appreciation for factual information just wasn't there, what you could call a genial bullshit artist.

I have trouble hating on Nixon.

When I went into the Air Force in 1970 the base pay of low end enlisted was horrible. I was getting $115 a month. Nixon pushed through a raise specifically targeting low end first term enlisted people. My base pay almost tripled because of him.

One would have hoped that after two terms as PM and letting Iraq disintegrate into sectarian violence during his watch, he would go into exile in Iran. Also not allowing US troops to remain in Iraq on hindsight was a very poor decision. When ISIS came, his troops left their weapons behind and ran away. Now this is probably going to divide the Shia's. May be he should appoint himself Mayor of Baghdad.

or Sultan?

I don't have any trouble at all hating on Dick Nixon, I lived in the D.C. area throughout his administration and saw firsthand how fucked up he and Spirochete Agnew and the rest of his band of merry criminals were. From the school milk programs, +++ ad. infinitum. Most of their dirty deeds didn't even make the news outside of the Post and the D.C. Free Press.

Pay was increased to attract volunteers. The draft was ended a year or two after that. Nixon wanted to end the draft to gut the anti-war movement. It worked, too.

I looked it up and it was more like double rather than triple.

But when you are struggling to get by on what was then less than what minimum wage workers were getting and someone doubles your pay, you really don't care why.

He'll probably end up having to fly out under the cover of darkness with nothing but the clothes on his back and $100 million in US taxpayer cash.

Then he'll retire to some secluded estate in Southern California or Florida.

That's the usual procedure for US installed third world heads of State that fall out of favor.

If he stays in Iraq, he'll end up on trial or shot, or both.
