Barney
You don't need no law to explain why you can't breath after you end up with your family jewels flattened by her knee....

Don't mind me I'm drunk.

lets say i go to walk my wife home from the "L" late at night. i do so because there have been two rapes in our neighborhood this year. both were commuted by black men. one wore a black "hoodie"

the police and local news publish pic's of the suspects & ask for the public's help in identifying and apprehending the suspects.

i see many black males in hoodies each day.

am I profiling them or acting on a duty i owe the others who peacefuly share our neighborhood?

just so you know this is a real situation we live with in this city.

about 10 days ago a young black man was nearly beaten to death for standing up for some of his white friends about 2 blocks from our home.

thats why this trial is so important to me.

this racial violence must stop or we and our society are doomed.

i would be just as quick to defend mr martin as i am mr zimmerman if ther roles were reversed.

Lots of people live in areas where there is a high level of violence. That doesn't give anyone the right to kill an unarmed person with a gun when their life is not in imminent danger.

Nor does it give anyone the right to stereotype individuals to justify killing an unarmed person.

This is an excerpt from the Neighborhood Watch Manual that barbara linked.

Patrol members should be trained by law enforcement. It should be emphasized to members that they do not possess police powers and they shall not carry weapons or pursue vehicles. They should also be cautioned to alert police or deputies when encountering strange activity. Members should never confront suspicious persons who could be armed and dangerous.

So my conclusion would be that Zimmerman did not act responsibly but did recklessly. So who is the adult here?
If there is a civil lawsuit, watch Zimmerman get crucified for this act.

Hey, Eric. Sorry for the "off your meds" comment, that was uncalled for. My apologies.

As Chas said, this has gotten to be the most charged up conversation in years on this forum.(or sumpthin' like that) Funny thing about Political Chat is we're all from AudioKarma and I have no doubt that in person we all would get over the political bs and enjoy each others company immensely.

Of course, some jerk would have to bring up those 'snake oil' oxygen free copper interconnects and then we would be off to the races again.

BTW, I took the Google Earth tour of your neighborhood tonite. Looks like a pretty nice place with a lot of old victorian houses. It kind of reminds me of parts of NW Washington D.C./Takoma Park, Md. where I lived in my younger days.

Sorry, I am trying hard to not antagonize but your "interpretation" is strange at best.

Maybe in Alaska a common expression like "we don't need you top do that" is not the same as in the lower 48. ????
If you can't comprehend what I wrote, I guess it's not a big surprise you can't comprehend what the dispatcher said.

I never interpreted the dispatcher's words, I took them literally.
Others here are the ones who want to assign intent.
I simply pointed out that the dispatcher did not request or instruct or suggest Zimmerman not follow.

I appreciate your efforts in not being antagonistic, it's very civilized of you.

Here's an interesting scenario for you to ponder;

There's this jackass in a truck with gun. It's dark and it's raining out. He's tried getting on the police force, but never could quite cut it. He was also pretty lame at the martial arts classes he took. He's pretty much just an idiot and a loser, who's joined the neighborhood watch because it's the closest this half-assed Barney Fife will ever get to "Law Enforcement"..............

Then one dark and rainy night he spies a dark, hooded figure holding "something" in his hand, suspiciously wandering the neighborhood. At last! His chance to prove his metal.....................

The marks on the back of Zim's head were not consistent with his story. Have put my head into places it did not belong I can tell you that a scalp wound bleeds like a stuck pig, no idea why but that is the way it is. Plus the prosecution used the defenses dummy to illustrate that the angle of the bullet wound in the lad's body was consistent with hism simply sitting astride Zim's body.

As to supposition ans speculation the simple fact is that Zim had no official capacity, he was asked or told to stand down.. Had he done so tthe lad would be alive and he would not be in jail.
