Nobody is saying this part out loud, but I see a pretty cold calculus at work: If conservatives can get another Covid wave started, not only would that make Biden look bad, but it might spark another round of mask mandates and business closures. Then in 2022 Republican candidates can run against the "tyranny" that they themselves made necessary.

That plan may be evil, but it shows grit, and the courage to make the tough decisions.

Time for the Biden administration to show some grit and flip the script. Go all out on blaming the Covid surge on every reich-winger talking against vaccines. Especially the Repukes in Congress who don't want it getting around that they themselves have already gotten the jab. Lay all the blame on last years Covid woes squarely on the shoulders of the same people now squawking against the vaccines. Then hit the able but refusing the vaccine with "Sorry, not sorry" get sick, you're on your own. You can certainly get care but it's on your dime. Time for a "your actions have consequences" moment. Time to stop being subtle.

The wonderful state of Tennessee where once upon a time a cashier at a grocery store asked me how to spell OK, has now effectively banned messaging on all vaccinations just so they don't have to tout Covid-19 vaccinations to teenagers. This is the gist of it and they also fired the person responsible in their Dept. of Health for vaccinations for committing the cardinal sin of publishing the law on the books in their state which said that teenagers do not need parental permission to get vaccinated (law applies for Covid-19 vaccine).

Those in Tennessee who wish the teenages the option of thinking for themselves can take their message about the law and other verboten info can take it to social media. The only way the wannabe authoritarians can stop that is going full Iraq and shutting off the internet.
Kind of ironic that those wishing for another Covid wave, and I have no doubt they exist, is that those who stand the best chance of getting sick and dying are their own fervent cult members. Scream from the mountain tops and down in the valleys that the friends and loved ones that would have been in that empty seat at the table, the ones absent from family get togethers, the ones who will forever miss the coming holidays had they listen to the real experts would still be here. Oh yeah, have fun paying their hospital bills. Essentially, rub their freaking noses in it.

They do and I think they are taking a calculated gamble. Yes, some of theirs would die, but in their thinking most of the higher risk people have been vaccinated (we hope) and the younger ones can survive the ordeal (they hope). And if they succeed in this gamble, they would have owned the Dems which is their primary objective, to score points with their cult.

If they lose, its collateral damage while creating 'chaos' for the Biden administration, which is their secondary objective.

And lets not forget, this is their version of achieving greatness. Sacrifice life for liberty and who cares about happiness anyway.
