Have fun
I lived on an aircraft carrier for 2 years
I am sort of burned out lol
If you stand about 30 meters from an EA-6B prowler as it fires up on the cat on a carrier the vibration will literally rattle your bones and skull.....it freaked me out the first time.
they also do a drill where they act like the landing gear on an incoming bird is all jacked up...so they stretch a net across the flight deck to catch the plane...luckily we never had to use it in a real situation. I did not do much flight deck corspman duty I was stuck in main medical in the treatment room. When I did stand duty on the flight deck I stood next to the tilley. The flight deck is an easy place to get decapitated or sucked into an air intake. It has happened. To keep this in line with the music theme of the thread I first heard Enya late at night in the Flight Deck Battle Dressing Station with all the lights off (except for the red lights for night)
