Unless it's an attack on their supposed right to keep and bear whatever pacifier they decide they need to feel safe in that shipping container buried in their backyard...

Is it acceptable to ask a question here about bombs in general at the risk of going off topic?
When it comes to the technical aspects of weapons, my knowledge is a bit limited. (As you guys have probably already figured out )

These guys made several bombs (at least three?) and all of them worked.

Is that just incredibly lucky if they had no hands on training?

Aren't home made bombs less reliable than that? Unless you've been trained to know how to put them together right?

From what I read, the ones they threw at the police during the shootout had lightable fuses, rather than cell phone or other electronic activation. Normal fuses (like those on cherry bombs or M-80's) are highly reliable. Making a homemade bomb with a normal lightable fuse is child's play and doesn't require any special skills at all. Electronic detonation systems are more complicated, but not terribly so. If a bunch of Afghani goatherders can do it, anyone can.

I'm sure that Popular Science covered any number of ways to make a 'bomb' many years ago. One of my neighbor's kids showed me a novel use for piccolo petes' one fourth of July. Holy crap!

So, that means the speculation that they could have read how to make the bombs on the Internet and were able to pull this off alone, without outside assistance or training, is reasonable?

I remember my brother making rockets. They had impressive explosions which propelled the rocket skyward.
