Trump is trying to overturn the election, and stay president despite the constitution. If you think the congresspeople of the GOP who are not defending the Constitution, as they swore an oath to do, are principled, your own discernment is a joke. At best.

Two cheers for the Never Trump conservatives
https://www.washingtonpost.com/opini...839_story.html
Quote:
The shameful complicity of Republican leaders in President Trump’s torrent of deceit about our election tells us there is little hope for a more reasonable post-Trump GOP. But what about conservatism as a philosophy? Is it equally discredited?
Let’s begin by just saying it: The country owes the Never Trump conservatives a debt.
Yes, many progressives have been uneasy with these unusual allies. They insist that Trump was not some alien imposition on conservatism but rather the product of long-standing trends in Republican politics. Trafficking in racial division and racism, nativism, extremism, conspiracy theories and voter suppression did not start with Trump.
Progressives are entirely right about this. But the Never Trumpers deserve our respect precisely because so many of them stood against these tendencies and, in more cases than not, undertook a deeper critique of their own side.

The GO(some)P cowards in Congress had a chance to remove this plague (President Misinformation) on our nation. They and even the few willing to acknowledge that Biden is the president elect are responsible for the economic and health situation we are in now. Included in that sorry fraternity are the Republican state legislators who tRump turned on them when they wouldn't help him overturn the election.

There are now two state legislatures shut down (AZ & MI) due to lawmakers' exposure to Rudy Giuliani

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement executed a search warrant Monday morning at the home of data scientist Rebekah Jones, who was fired by the state Department of Health in May. The agency is investigating whether Jones accessed a state government messaging system without authorization to urge employees to speak out about coronavirus deaths, according to an affidavit by an agent working on the case.

Of course this warranted guns drawn-drug raid tactics, of course.

Relegating the Republican party to the rubbish bin would be a good start. Not that the Democratic party is populated solely by angels but the Republicans would surely oppose anything that would hinder their quest for power.

I have always felt the republicans were in search of a dictator to rule the country. They have not failed in proving me right!

Heather Caygle @heatherscope
NEW: The Inaugural Committee fails to pass simple resolution essentially acknowledging Biden as president-elect after all Republicans opposed.
Hoyer offered the resolution, which failed 3-3. Other committee members are Pelosi, McConnell, McCarthy, Blunt and Klobuchar
