Good trigger word, war. Regular war is pretty understandable--you have an enemy destroying things and killing people, to try to make you surrender or in some way do what they say.

What goes on in the economic sphere with China, that compares with that enough to be called war? Are they seeking to coerce us by harming us?

Trump's trade war with China is harming us economically according to many, including yourself. China has been taking American jobs for decades thus harming a substantial number of Americans economically. An act of economic war?

The coercing will come once China becomes the dominant economy, if not sooner.
