I heard the author of this blog, jazzwax.com, on the local NPR station this morning. He is also the author of a book, Why Jazz Happened, in which he identifies some of the social and technological changes that affected the development of the art. Fascinating stuff for you jazz fans out there.

Note: He identified "In a Silent Way" as one of the great jazz albums, so he has some credibility with me.

Regards,

D-Ray

He did work in Henry's machine shop back in Michigan. I doubt that he read any Huxley.

FZ - "The Grand Wazoo"

I listened to "Bongo Fury" earlier and am listening now to the above on Spotify. They seem to have most if not all of Frank's catalog online now. Back when Gail and the Trust were struggling to gain the rights to His entire body of work, it was impossible to stream or download any of Zappa's material over the internet. Now that The Zappa Trust has succeeded, that has obviously changed. I'm right glad for it.

I've owned this one since it came out and it remains my favorite FZ album. A great album.
