Well, Tsarnaev said that the only people involved were he and his brother. Religious fervor was the proximate rationale per Tsarnaev. Sorry if this popped any fascistic bubbles and wet dreams of waterboarding.
He has been charged under federal law and could possibly face a death sentence under those statutes.

Amazing. Just amazing.
Let me see if I have this right. If an American citizen is a Muslim and they commit and act of terror, it's somehow different than if a non-Muslim who commits an act of terror and constitutional rights no longer apply?
Look. There is no way, this punk is going to escape the law. We have him, the evidence is overwhelming and he's going away forever. At least if Miranda is read, it's one less thing the defense can use. Where is the harm? If there is a connection to an actual terror organization, we can find out anyways whether he talks or not. The whole thing about torture and so on is reactionary and emotional, IMHO.

The whole talk of torture is really about revenge, not intelligence.

Which is what the fans of it usually lack.
We're better then them, except when we choose to act like them. But that's different.

The whole talk of torture is sensationalism. Water boarding isn't torture, stripping skin and electrocution, things that cause physical harm are torture.
Water boarding is more like extreme harassment, which seems to be very popular nowadays anyway.
Extracting information from the enemy is not a new concept, and does not equate us in any way with those who intentionally target innocents in their quest for dominance.

The desire to put him on trial in a military court is illegal. He is a civilian. Moreover, any intelligence gained by his interrogation and trial will be shared with the military and various intelligence agencies. Right wing pundits to the contrary, prosecution via civilian court and intelligence gathering is not mutually exclusive.
Are these the same people upset with the drone attacks against turncoat terrorists killed by the Obama Administration in Yemen? Talk about inconsistent.....
I am sure if we find out that this asshole was connected to an overseas group the drones will be sent forthwith....unless the terrorist group is in Russia...that could be a major problem....I do not know if Obama would strike in Russian territory.....I guess we will have to see.

I know. I've been arguing this all day long with people. Even family members....Who are the worst, BTW. All except for the Sis that lives here and two brothers in Ohio. The rest......well, let's just say I love them anyways.

Agreed. And excellent post, BTW.
In the bolded;
I doubt it. Unless he could get the nod from Putin. But, somehow, I don't think there is any such connection to an organized terror group. Could be wrong. It's just a gut feeling that these two idiots were working on their own.

Sometimes it takes a while on death row. How long would he last in general population?
