And IMO, sending our troops there isn't the best idea.

If anyone's interested, "The Stand" is on Netflix.

They won't be treating people at this stage so the threat to them is minimal is what I'm hearing. Their mission will be to build hospitals all over the affected areas. Fortunately for them we Americans owe the Liberians a long standing debt going back to the late 1800s.

I think he suspected that he had been exposed and given the dismal chances he had in Liberia, he headed to Dallas where he has at least a small chance at surviving it. If only that hospital hadn't slipped up by sending him home instead of following CDC protocols which say that anyone traveling to those hotspots and displaying possible symptoms be quarantined.

I may be in the minority but my thoughts are that Ebola doesn't stand a real chance of getting out of hand here in the states.

What's your definition of "out of hand"?
When the beaurocracy can no longer follow CDC guidelines? Because we passed that point.
When the first line hospital staff fails to follow simple established protocol to identify entry into the country? Been there, done that
When you go from "very unlikely it will ever enter the country", to "confident we will stop it in its tracks"?

You've gone from being paranoid to panic-mongering, with the usual subtext....

Out-of-hand would be the number of cases doubling every day or two.

That would be out of hand by 3rd world standards. Shouldn't we have a little higher benchmark if we're going to be a destination for the hopeful?

Yes, Was. I get that you hate Obama because he's a feckless, weak, omniscient tyrant bent on world domination of your sacred bodily fluids.

Sheesh, give the Obama Derangement Syndrome a rest bud. Ebola isn't going to invade Anchorage and kill your dog and Bristol Palin.
