You are so inexact in your thinking and use of words sometimes. Lots of people reacted in lots of ways, so generalizing that to 'the people' is grandiose rhetoric. Describing the many reactions as one emotionally-evocative 'recoiling' is inaccurate and manipulative. Calling the nomination change a 'coup' is a ridiculous distortion of the word. Harris was the legitimate choice of party delegates empowered to make that choice. And Biden is 'still' in charge because he absolutely is supposed to be, because there was no coup. Sheesh!

I am ventilating the complexity of certainty. Sheesh is the correct response. (Note coup is in parentheses).

We have heard from him recently, on Fox on Nov 18th specifically:
Quote:
CLYBURN: We go from left to right in this country. We go from right back left in this country. And I always say, well whether the pendulum is going from left to right or right to left, it always passes through the middle. And so it seems to me we camp out twice as much time in the middle as we do in the right or left.
Now, the country has gone lurching back to the right. I hope it’s not going as far right as that which happened in Germany in the 1930s. But you may remember I forewarned way back in 2018 that I saw this coming. I’ve studied history all of my life.
I mean, since being a preteen, I’ve been enamored with this country’s history. And I can tell you what I said back in 2018 on another network is now coming to pass. People chastised me for saying it at that time, but now they are seeing it.
CAVUTO: Well how are we seeing it? He’s not president yet. I mean, are you envisioning another Hitler? Is that what you’re saying?
CLYBURN: That’s exactly what I’m saying. I said the 1930s in Germany!

The Gentleman seems insightful and well-spoken to me.

Thanks! Good to know my favorite Dem is still active.
Mr. Clyburn is at times a real clue in the thrust of national politics and especially that of the Dems.

Actually, it is just more name calling and no explanation of how or why their policies were enacted or how or why the Trump policies are going to hurt them.
Which is why every demographic including his swung .

Hello zerojunk I was looking for him to be very vocal/active in the recent campaign. Rep Clyburn is very influential with a very solid block of Democrats. He was the politician who helped Biden get over the hump at critical time in Binden"s first attempt to become the nominee.
I might be wrong but I got the impression he was sitting out the recent campaign. Probably due to his age, or probably he did not like the fact that his man was pushed. Note I am not using the word "coup".

Or could it be that Biden needed Clyburn for the Black vote and Harris didn't (or at least thought she didn't)? Also, Clyburn was all about helping Biden with the South Carolina primary because he was behind at that point and needed a jolt. Because of the circumstances, Harris didn't need to win any primaries.

I think democrats are over thinking king the reasons why they lost.
Too many voters fell victim to Trumps lies and lost their moral compass during the process.
